Kalithies

The village of Kalithies features narrow alleyways and numerous monuments. The oldest written reference to this area dates from the year 1474, when the village is quoted under the name of “Kalathiés” or “Kalatiés”, likely because of the plant “kolythos” or “kolythea” abounding in this area. In the village you will come across the church of the “Transfiguration of the Savior”, the iconostasis of which is estimated to date from the 16th century. In the village square, about 2 minutes stroll from the cottage, you will also find a friendly taverna and café with a nice view, mini supermarkets and a bakery.

A wider selection of amenities can be found in Faliraki, which is within a five minute drive away from the property. You will also find the famous Anthony Quinn Bay only 3km away. There is a bus top within a five minute walk from the cottage, with local buses running to Faliraki and also the historical Medieval town of Rhodes.
